Dodds to Div III National Champions
Hooksett, NH - Trevor Dodds, a New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs
forward, has committed to Middlebury College for the fall of 2007.
A tremendous skater with strong puck skills and a great mind,
Dodds is well suited for the style of play Coach Bill Beaney looks
for and should have a great collegiate career and hopefully will
help bring some more championships to the Vermont College.
"Trevor has hit a home run with his decision," stated
GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay. "Middlebury and Trevor Dodds
are a great match and I cannot express how happy I am for Trevor.
His stick skills and creativity will allow him to fit in perfectly
in Coach Beaney's system. He is such a bright young man and he
is making a decision that will allow him to have a successful
life both on and off the ice. I am very proud to have him as a
part of our Monarchs family and look forward to seeing him have
a great collegiate career and life."
Trevor agrees with Coach Tremblay and offered, "Middlebury
is the perfect fit for me. It's a great academic institution with
a hockey team that will compete for a national championship every
year. Playing for a school like Middlebury with the community
support they receive is something I am very excited about. Coach
Beaney has been encouraging me to also play baseball, which is
something I didn't think I would be able to do in college."
"Trevor's jump from high school to juniors has been steadily
improving and he is starting to find the space and room he can
create with his speed and intelligence," noted Sean Tremblay.
Trevor added, "The jump from high school to juniors has not
been an easy one, but Coach Tremblay and Coach (Bob) Corkum have
helped make the transition a smooth one and they are really helping
me develop as both a player and a person. When Coach Tremblay
informed me that I'd be playing for the Monarchs this year, I
was very excited and humbled because they have a storied past
of both individual and team success; and I was looking forward
to the opportunity of helping another team go down in Monarchs
history as a champion."
Trevor is the first Monarchs to move on to Middlebury College.
He is the son of Dick and Melissa Dodds of Hanover, NH.
