2008 Summer Showdown
“5th annual tourney slated for June 26-29”
You are being invited to participate in one of the best tournaments the summer has to offer. This is strictly an invite only tournament and is limited to only eight teams. I will be putting together five of the teams that will participate. Peter Masters of the Junior Bruins will be bringing two teams and the Atlantic District will bring their U-20 all-star team. There will also be a trainer available throughout the entire event.
All Monarchs Teams will scrimmage on Thursday before the tourney begins to allow players to familiarize you with one another. All Monarchs Teams are guaranteed five games during the four days, including the scrimmages. Every player is either heading to a Division One school, or is a Division One prospect. That is the main purpose of the tournament, to give the elite player the opportunity to play five great games instead of the traditional tournament where you play only a couple good games on Sunday. You will also play with talented players from all over getting a unique opportunity to be with players you normally don’t get the chance to in the winter.
The Summer Showdown will take place at the Tri Town Ice Arena in Hooksett, NH (just north of Manchester, NH). Every Hockey East, ECAC, and Atlantic Hockey school will be invited to attend this spectacular showcase. Also, all Division Three schools will be invited, as well as the NHL. With the new college hockey dead period taking place during the first three weeks in August; all college coaches will make the trip to see this tournament seeing they cannot attend the 3-4 tournaments held during August.
Please send in your application immediately as all players have until Monday, May 19th to send in your application and payment to secure your spot in this prestigious event. On June 9th I will post the rosters and schedule on our website and mail them to all of the college coaches and pro scouts.
