The 2007-2008 New Hampshire Junior Monarchs

Hooksett, NH - The 2007-2008 New Hampshire Junior Monarchs return eight players from last years team that won regular season, playoff, and national championships. The new season brings seventeen new faces to the Monarchs organization, all of which have huge potential of moving on to college hockey.

#7 Owen Carpino: At 6’ 1” and 205 pounds Owen was a mainstay on the Monarch blue line last year. Originally from Nashua, NH, Owen brings strong physical play night in and night out and will be counted on to sure up the power play and penalty killing units this season.

#4 Jimmy Gaudet: Coming of a solid year and with a commitment to Dartmouth for 2008 in his pocket, Jimmy will be an impact player this year. A soft handed offensive defenseman with solid vision, he will be expected to be one of many anchors on this year’s squad.

#6 Lance Herrington: Lance turned many heads last year during the second half of the season. He took his game to an entirely new level and was a huge factor in the stretch drive. The coaching staff is expecting him to pick up right where he left off, bringing all around solid play each game. At 6’3” his size and physical play are big concerns for visiting teams.

#22 Ryan Miniaci: Ryan is another returning player that got better as the season progressed. He possesses a huge shot and seems to play his best games when he is physical. He will be relied on heavily this year to help the Monarchs defend their title. Ryan will be seeing a lot of ice this year.

 #15 Greg Burke: Greg is coming of a fine rookie campaign for the Monarchs. He has tremendous skill and work ethic and will be a leader this year. Greg is committed to attend UNH in either 08 or 09.

#16 Ansel Ivens-Anderson: Returning for his third year in a Monarchs uniform, Ansel will look to build off his success of last year and add to his numbers. Ansel is gritty two way player with an extremely quick release.

#17 Rence Coassin: One of the Monarchs most consistent players from a year ago. Tenacious work ethic and an ever present will to win are characteristics the coaching staff hopes Rence will be helping the newcomers with.

#8 Connor Moore: A 2009 recruit of Providence College is making his EJHL debut. He is a big strong power forward who thrives on winning one on one battles and playing the physical game.

#9 Ben Ketchum: Heavy shooting rugged forward coming from Salisbury Prep joins the Monarchs for his first season in the EJ. He will be counted on to produce points and play a solid two way game.

#10 Graham Sisson: Coming to the Monarchs from the St. Louis Bandits of the NAHL, Graham is very cerebral and has exceptional vision. He will be counted on to replace some of the scoring from last year’s team.

#11 Juri Bouharevich: played last year at St. Paul School. Juri is a speedy and skilled forward with a great pair of hand and a knack for finding the net. He is the lone import on this year’s squad, hailing from Montreal.

#12 Charlie Mullan: A youngster (4-8-1990) from Buffalo N.Y. Charlie has a great skill set and is deceptively quick. He will be asked to learn the ropes of the EJHL and battle with older players. There is no question that his play will get the attention of recruiters over the course of the year.

#14 Mike Muhs: A native of Rochester N.Y., mike played his hockey last year with Maksymum and impressed the Monarch staff at this years tryouts. He is a quick, feisty, skilled forward who battles shift in and shift out.

#18 Jeff Hannan: Jeff played last year with the Pittsburgh Hornets of the Mid West Elite League where he accumulated impressive numbers. He is rangy forward with great skating abilities and hands to match. The Monarchs staff is expecting his transition to the EJHL to be a smooth one.

#20 Angelo Vrachnas: Angelo is a skilled power forward who thrives on the one on one battle’s. His physical presence will give his linemates some much needed room in the offensive zone. Angelo played last year with the New York Bobcats of the AJHL.

#21 Brian Flynn: Coming to the Monarchs via Pomfret Prep. Brian is a skilled, fast goal scoring forward with extremely soft hands. He will be counted on to put up offensive numbers this year.

#23 Adam Kaiser: Another Monarch from N.Y. (Stony Point) Adam played last year at Hotchkiss. He is a quick, shifty forward with exceptional playmaking qualities and a nose for the net.

#24 Kyle Mountain: A talented well rounded forward who is great on face-offs and in his own zone. Kyle hails from Bryn Mawr Pa. and played last year at Milton Prep. Kyle is one of two 1990 birth years on this years team.

#27 Jason Pietrasiak: Jason played last year with the Monarch Junior B’s where he led all players in scoring. He is a natural goal scorer with good hands and is deceptively fast. After an initial adjustment, he is expected to continue finding the back of the net. Jason is a native of Shrewsberry, Ma.

#2 Zack Waxenberg: Zack is a big, strong stay at home d-man coming to the Monarchs from the West. He played last year with the Anaheim Ducks AAA team. Zack is looking to help sure up the Monarch blue line.

#3 Mark Nemec: At 6’ 3” and 205 lbs. Mark brings a physical element to this year’s team. He played last year with Choate and is originally from New York. He skates well and possesses a nice skill set. He should make the jump from Prep Hockey to the EJHL fairly quickly.

#5 Russ Franey: Russ is an offensive defenseman with excellent skating ability and passing skills. It is a big jump from Berwick Academy to the EJHL, but the Monarch staff feels the transition will be a smooth one. Russ is originally from York, Maine.

#28 Eric Hines: Eric played last year with the Monarch B team and helped them to an outstanding year. He is looking to find his spot on this year’s club. His physical presence and his defending ability are his strong suites.

#30 James Mello: James is returning to the Monarchs after a stellar year between the pipes. His play last year was a huge factor in the teams multiple Championships and earned him a commitment to Dartmouth in “08”. The coaching staff is expecting more of the same this year.

#31 Justin Gates: Justin joins the Monarchs this year as part of a great goaltending tandem. He is a recruit of Providence College “08”. Justin played for prep powerhouse Lawrence Academy last year and should make the jump to the EJHL without to much trouble.
