COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2010 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team will travel to Nagano City, Japan, next week to compete in the 2010 Japan Para Ice Sledge Hockey Championships. The six-day tournament (Jan. 19-24) will serve as Team USA's final tune-up before the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, which will take place March 13-20 in Vancouver, B.C.
Team USA will face off against teams from the Czech Republic, Japan and Norway. The U.S. will start play Jan. 19 when it takes on Norway at the Nagano City Wakasato Tamokuteki Sport Arena. Puck drop is slated for 3 p.m. local time. A full schedule is listed below.
NOTES: The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team recently captured first place at the 2009 World Sledge Hockey Challenge, posting a 2-1-0-1 record against Canada, Japan and Norway ... Team USA has posted a 5-2-1-2 record in games this season against Canada and Japan, and has yet to face the Czech Republic ...
