Gaudet heading home to Dartmouth
Hooksett, NH - Jimmy Gaudet will head to the campus of
Dartmouth College and join both his father (Bob, Head Coach) and
brother (Joey, forward) in the fall of 2008. A senior at Hanover
High School, Jimmy is in his rookie season with the New Hampshire
Jr. Monarchs and is quickly gaining a reputation as a highly skilled,
offensive defenseman. The 6'1 / 180 left shot defensemen is a
1/10/89 and will spend one more season with the Monarchs before
joining the Big Green.
"I chose Dartmouth because I know a lot about the school
and the hockey program," stated Gaudet. "I feel I will
be able to fit right in with both the hockey program and the school
academically."
"I am very pleased to see Jimmy make the decision to attend
Dartmouth and I know he will have an immediate impact when he
arrives in the fall of 2008," stated GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay.
"Jimmy has very good feet, a great stick, and can really
make things happen offensively from the blueline. He is a phenomenal
person with a desire to be a great hockey player, which is evident
by his commitment to playing for us in his senior year. Each day
after school he drives an hour to play for us and heads right
back to do his schoolwork at night, which is certainly a long,
dedicated day."
Jimmy Gaudet will spend one more season with the Monarchs as
a post-grad to give him the time to mature physically and work
on rounding out his overall game. With two full EJHL season under
his belt, he will be ready to step in and contribute right away
on the Big Green's blue line. "I thank the Dartmouth staff
along with Coach Tremblay and Coach Corkum for everything they've
done in getting me committed to the school I want to go to,"
Gaudet mentioned. "I look forward to playing for my dad and
with my brother at such a high level of the game."
Jimmy is the son of Bob and Lynne Gaudet of Etna, NH.
