Fanning to Bowdoin College
Hooksett, NH - The New Hampshire Jr Monarchs are proud
to announce Jeff Fanning will be heading to Bowdoin College this
fall. A first year player with the Monarchs, Jeff has been steady
all season long and has played both center and right wing. The
6'3, 210 forward has scored nine goals and added six assists for
fifteen points in thirty EJHL games. Currently Bowdoin is leading
the NESCAC with a 10-5-2 record and are 13-5-3 overall. Former
Monarchs Ryan Blossom is leading the team in scoring.
"Jeff will have an immediate impact at Bowdoin and has
made a great decision that will impact not only his next four
years, but the rest of his life," stated Head Coach Sean
Tremblay. "I couldn't be happier for him and know that he
will fit into Coach Meagher's team immediately. Jeff has been
great for us this season and continues to develop each week. He
has great hands and scoring ability and when he uses his big frame
is very hard to defend down low. He will have a great career at
Bowdoin."
Jeff was equally excited and offered, "I am really looking
forward to attending Bowdoin College next year and playing in
such a competitive league as the NESCAC. Bowdoin is a perfect
fit for me with its great hockey program and the support it receives
from its students, administration, and community. Playing both
hockey and receiving such a great education from Bowdoin is truly
a once in a lifetime opportunity. I look forward to the entire
experience and await all of the challenges I will face both on
and off of the ice."
Fanning is sure to crack double-digits in goals with six EJHL
contests remaining and is looking forward to helping the Monarchs
garner another EJHL Championship. Currently the Monarchs are 34-4-1
in the EJHL and are 43-5-1 overall.
